Lesson 3a: Early Counting Tools

A computer is a machine which works with information and data in the form of numbers. People from the beginning of time have invented things to help them count.

The First Counting Tools 
Fingers and Toes?

 Caveman counted with the only counting tools they knew, their fingers and toes.
These were consider the first counting tools.
 Many of us still use them today.

Other counting tools that have been used through out time have been stones, knots on ropes, and notches on sticks. People used these counting tools to count their belongings and to keep track of time.
